Usefulness:
|
The game, Word Search, seems to be a good way for people who like word games and puzzles to pass the time. However, there are quite a few issues with this application. Many of the reviews of this game on the Android Market complained about inappropriate words being used and suspicious advertising practices. When I was playing the game, I completed two and half puzzles and did not notice anything that seemed too offensive, nor did the advertisements seem to be very bad, the only advertisement that I even saw was small banner at the top of the screen for Barnes and Noble's Nook.
Despite the claims of the Android Market reviews, I did personally notice a few flaws with the game. The first problem was that a few of the words on the search list were not really proper words at all, so if you are trying to expand your vocabulary this game might not be the most accurate teacher. Another flaw that I noticed was that even though I only played two and half games, several of the words were repeated from game to game. Another negative point was that each list of words had what seemed to me like too many three letter words, which are not very fun to try and find.
The game featured a few fun options like being able to change the theme from light to dark and having the ability to choose to play in several different languages. It also timed your games and kept a list of your high scores. Overall, this was a fairly simple game that seems like a good way to pass the time. One precaution to take with this game is to look out for malicious advertising practices, because although I did not experience an obvious problem with it, it seems like other users have.

Ease of Use:
|
The game, Word Search, is very easy to use. One just needs to use his or her finger to highlight the words that you find from the list. The settings are simple and self-explanatory and give the user a few options to make the game better suit his or her preferences. I tested this application on a tablet, so it is important to note that the game play experience could be somewhat different on a smaller device like a smartphone.
